On any given day, in Ohio, there are over 16,000 children in foster care and over 124,000 children in kinship care. Seeds of Hope was born out of the need to support and encourage the families that care for these children. Over the past 4 years, we have filled over 1,000 need requests from foster, kinship and adoptive families in Troy, Miami County and the surrounding counties.

We started with the idea of providing a small bag of basic needs including diapers, wipes, and pajamas. Quickly, we saw the need was far greater than this. Requests grew into larger care items including beds, car seats, baby care items and more. Soon we realized that along with items, families were craving community. We began hosting monthly free shop days, support events and advocacy and education events to create a sense of community and encouragement. Every year the needs have grown.
